The violence and conflict going on in Syria right now is not only internal but external as well. There is a fight internally for control of the country. The ISIS (Islamic State in Iraq and Syria) is battling hard to over turn the Assad regime. There is long standing hatred and enmity between the two groups. There is also a great hatred of Israel. Presently, rockets are flying between the two countries on a daily basis!
Join me in praying for the believers in Syria to remain strong under such enormous pressure so that they can be a witness for the Lord. Also pray for hearts to be softened and drawn to Jesus, the Peacemaker and Comforter.
From the 30 Days of Prayer Guide:
- A missionary family, who had to flee Syria, explained the prayer needs as learning how to pray in the present based on what the Bible says about Syria’s past and future (Isaiah 17:1). They also say: “Our main prayer and hearts’ cry is for the innocent, who have no chance to hear the message of reconciliation.”
