“….Furthermore, I declare to you that the Lord Himself will build a house for you. When your time comes to be with your fathers, I will raise up after you your descendant, who is one of your own sons, and I will establish his kingdom. He will build a house for Me, and I will establish his throne forever. I will be a father to him, and he will be a son to Me….” -1 Chronicles 17:1-15
The House prophetically speaking is the Church and the Son who will build it is Jesus!
Peter reminds us that we are living stones being fit together into a spiritual house! How awesome it is to think about being the House of God! (both individually and collectively as the church)
Brothers and sisters quit putting so much “stock” in a building that WILL burn up with a melting heat. (2 Pe 3.9-13) Do you care more about your church building than you do about people? Do you judge others who choose to “gather” as a body of believers OUTSIDE of a church building?
What’s sad is I know SO many pastors and people who SAY ‘the people are more important’, but with their actions they prove that much more dear to their hearts is a building with good programming.
This generation can spot the fakes for miles! We are losing a generation because we are unwilling to set aside traditions and the things we know and are comfortable with. This generation won’t be “content” to sit in your “service” without true purpose and cause. We need to start looking beyond our walls to reach them.
