How long, O Lord, must I call for help,
but you do not listen?
Or cry out to you, “Violence!”
but you do not save?
Why do you make me look at injustice?
Why do you tolerate wrong?
Destruction and violence are before me;
there is strife, and conflict abounds.
Therefore the law is paralyzed,
and justice never prevails.
The wicked hem in the righteous,
so that justice is perverted.
– Habakkuk 1:2-4
How long do we have to watch wickedness rage on and expand. We live in times of ever increasing transgression! It just keeps getting worse. The evil trample the good until it is difficult to see the good any longer! And justice is reverted, not just here but everywhere you go. Sometimes I look land I see a great vast hopeless mess.
Help me to see with your eyes. Help me to see those who need help and care. Help me to see where your Spirit is working so that I may join you there! May I truly be your hands and feet in this dark world.
