A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man holds it in check.
This verse reminds me of a volcano getting ready to erupt it’s furry of lava and ash all over anyone who is near!
People can often act just like a volcano; letting the full force of their anger fly at others. The foolishness of letting anger rule should be obvious. It can lead to:
ruined and strained relationships
a reputation of angry outbursts
the loss of jobs and opportunities
ulcers and other health problems
setting a bad example for children who are always watching.
This is my son’s favorite verse to quote. But it is a great reminder for both of us! When I am tempted to lose my anger I will remember this verse. To keep my self in control is important because I have to teach my children this. God help me!
