“Therefore, you should pray like this: Our Father in heaven, Your name be honored as holy.”
Who is a “Father”?
Someone who exercises paternal care over others; paternal protector or provider; someone who loves and cares for his children (natural children or not).
Think about your earthly father. Was he good and gentle, teaching you right from wrong? Did he provide and care for you? Even though he may have been imperfect, did he love you as best he knew how? I hope you can answer “yes” to these questions. But perhaps your answer is “no”.
How has your relationship with your earthly dad shaped your thinking and feeling toward “OUR Father” in heaven?
Even the best earthly father cannot compare to the Father in heaven!
When you pray this week think about who your “Father in heaven” is, what is he like, what plans might he have for your body of believers and for you personally?
