3. Relinquish: let go of stuff.
“If you sell land to one of you countryman or buy any from him, do not take advantage of each other. You are to buy from your countryman on the basis of the number of years since the Jubilee. And he is to sell to you on the basis of the number of years left for harvesting crops. When the years are many, you are to increase the price, and when the years are few, you are to decrease the price, because what he is really selling you is the number of crops.” -Leviticus 25:14-16
The land in Canaan was to be a permanent possession. And any land sold was returned in the Year of Jubilee. What’s interesting to me is that the worth of the land was based on the time left until the next Year of Jubilee. The less stuff is worth to us the closer we are to joy; to the point that when we are truly experiencing joy stuff is completely worthless and is let go of entirely!
Hold stuff at arms length and be willing to let go of it at a moments notice and joy will overflow! Blessings my friends!
